Renato Sanches signs for Lille

French side Lille has signed Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches on a five-year deal for an undisclosed amount. The player who was once considered as a European sensation joined Bayern Munich in 2016 from Benfica for a fee of around £27.5m.

The player then moved to the Premier League on loan to Swansea where he managed to play 12 games for The Swans.

However, the player failed to fulfill his potential with Bayern Munich managing 53 games with the German club but only scoring two goals and making three assists during this time.

Sanches who plays for the Portugal national team has managed so far 18 caps for his country and was in the team that won the Euros in 2016.

He will be hoping that the move to Lille will be an opportunity for him to resuscitate his career and reach the heights that were expected of him when he broke into the international scene.

Lille boss said that this is an exciting signing for the club and that they will be looking forward to great things from the player. He said that Renato Sanches is an exciting young player and that he still has the time to develop into a very good player.

Lille was looking for a creative midfielder to help boost their attack and they will be hoping that Renato Sanches is the right man for the job. They lost Pepe during the summer transfer window with the winger signing for Arsenal and will feel that Renato Sanches is a capable replacement for him.

Renato Sanches said that he is happy to have signed for Lille and that he will be doing his best to help the team score goals and win games. He said that he has been well received by the fans and is excited to be part of the team.
