Shkodran Mustafi expected to leave Arsenal

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is expected to leave Arsenal before the closure of the transfer window on the 2nd of September. The player who has not played for Arsenal since the start of the season is reported seeking a move away from the club after falling down the pecking order.

His agent has revealed that they are currently evaluating several options and that they will be making a decision shortly. The player still has two year left on his contract but it is reported that Unai Emery has told the player that he will not be having a lot of game time if he stays at Arsenal and that he will be better off seeking another club.

Shkodran Mustafi’s agent said that his player would have loved to stay in London and fulfill his contract but given the situation it will be best for both parties to negotiate a transfer.

There were reports that Shkodran Mustafi might be moving to Monaco earlier this month but so far there is no concrete offer that has been made. There is also a possibility that Shkodran Mustafi might move to Germany with a number of clubs interested in signing the player.

Unai Emery has clearly stated that the player is surplus to requirement at Arsenal and that he cannot guarantee that he will be able to give them a lot of games. He said that last year itself it was difficult for him to keep him happy because of a lack of games and that he does not want it to repeat this year.

Shkodran Mustafi signed for Arsenal on the 30th August of 2016 for a fee exceeding £35 million. So far he has managed to play 112 games for the Gunners and scored 8 goals during the process.
