Malaga to sign Martin Demichelis

Spanish club Malaga CF have given unsettled Argentine defender Martin Demichelis an escape route out of FC Bayern by signing him on loan from the Bavarian giants. Demichelis himself made the revelation to popular German newspaper Bild. The 30 year old will initially join Malaga on loan, and the transfer can be made permanent in the summer for a fee of 3 million euros if the Andalusian side manage to stay up in La Liga.

The transfer brings the curtains down on Demichelis’ seven year association with Bayern. He joined them in 2003 from River Plate and has made more than 200 appearances for the German giants in all competitions.

Demichelis is an Argentine international and was part of the squad that lost to Germany in the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup.
