Liverpool set to rekindle their interest in Sturridge

According to reports in the Sunday Express Liverpool are set to rekindle their interest in signing Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge in a deal worth £12million. The England international has struggled to command a regular place in the Blues team this season and could move on in January.

Liverpool are currently short of attacking options, with Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini the only senior strikers at the club. Borini is currently out injured and Suarez has been left to lead the line single-handedly.

Chelsea aren’t exactly blessed with lots of attacking options, but are being linked with a big money move for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao in the January transfer window. The European champions also have the option of recalling Romelu Lukaku from his loan spell at West Brom.

If Chelsea can add to their strike force then the Blues could allow Sturridge to move to pastures new and revive his flagging career.
