Gunners linked with move for Lampard

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is being linked with a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal in the January transfer window. There has been speculation in recent weeks that Lampard is set to leave Chelsea in the near future.

Lampard’s contract with the Blues expires next summer and interim Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez has revealed that he believes that the midfielder will leave in the summer. The 34 year-old is being phased out at Stamford Bridge.

It now seems that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to add the midfielder to his squad. The Gunners boss prefers to sign young players and develop them, but he sees Lampard as a player that can help his young players develop and add experience to the centre of the park.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will allow Lampard to leave the club in January. One thing that seems certain is that the England international doesn’t have a future at Stamford Bridge.
