Arsenal have reportedly made a £3m bid for unsettled Chelsea winger Salomon Kalou. The Ivorian international is out of contract at the end of the season and talks over a new deal at Stamford Bridge are yet to yield fruit. Amidst this hoopla, the Gunners have reportedly registered their interest in the hope that the lure of football under Arsene Wenger may convince the Ivorian to move across the capital.
However wages may turn out to be a stumbling block in the transfer. Kalou reportedly wants close to £90K a week at Chelsea, a figure that Arsenal are unlikely to match.
Kalou has also been on the wishlist of Russian outfits Lokomotiv and Anzhi, both of whom are prepared to meet his wage demands.
