Wenger admits interest in Cavani and Zaha

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Edinson Cavani and Wilfried Zaha are among the names under consideration as the Gunners ponder their winter signings. The Gunners are a lowly sixth in the league currently and fans have been clamouring for the club to strengthen their side with some top quality signings in the current market in order to ensure a strong finish.

Napoli striker Cavani has cemented his reputation as one of the top marksmen in Europe and Wenger admitted that he was interested in the Uruguayan star in his pre-Chelsea press conference. However he did admit that Cavani “would cost a lot of money”

Crystal Palace starlet Zaha is expected to cost lesser than Cavani, but still a significant sum for a very talented, but unproven striker at Premier League level. Man Utd are also said to be seriously interested in signing him, but Wenger is ready to wait till the end of January before dipping his hand in the market.
