Welliton Interested in Spurs move

Brazilian striker Welliton has revealed that he would be interested in a move to Premier League Tottenham. He has revealed his interest in the move after reports in Russia revealed that Welliton’s club Spartak Moscow are interested in signing Roman Pavlyuchenko. Spartak could use the Brazilian as part of the deal to bring the Russian back to the club.

Pavlyuchenko is considering his future at Tottenham due to a lack of first team action. Welliton is Spartak’s top goalscorer this season with 21 goals and has attracted interest from all over Europe.

Welliton told the Daily Mail: “Tottenham are a famous club with a good infrastructure,”

However he has also revealed that he would be happy to stay at Spartak and partner Pavlyuchenko up front.

“Of course I’d be happy if we signed him,” added Welliton. “I don’t see any reason to be upset. I only have pleasant memories of playing together with him. We are both versatile forwards who would complement each other.”

Lokomotiv had also been linked with Pavlyuchenko but have played down a move for him. However their president Nikolay Naumov has not rubbished a move for the star. Naumov revealed: “Our interest in Pavlyuchenko is no more than a rumour,”

“Of course, we are interested in such a player, but we have not yet entered negotiations for his transfer. I can say that he may arrive here because as you know in football, anything is possible. But, by the same token, “Loko” may sign Lionel Messi.”
