Tractor Boys agree fee for Wallace

Ipswich Town have agreed a fee with Scottish outfit Falkirk for the transfer of defender Murray Wallace. The announcement was made by Tractor Boys boss Paul Jewell, who said he was hopeful of wrapping a move for the youngster in the next couple of days.

Wallace will come down to Portman Road to discuss personal terms after Sunday’s Scottish League Cup game against Celtic. Jewell also added that Ipswich faced competition from a number of clubs, with Brighton and Hove Albion the most prominent among them, for Wallace’s services. Charlton and Huddersfield are rumoured to be the other clubs to have held discussions with Falkirk.

Wallace played for Rangers as a boy, but didn’t make the grade at Ibrox and was not granted a professional contract.
