Town to seal Stevenson deal

Ipswich Town have agreed a deal with Heart of Midlothian for the transfer of Ryan Stevenson. The midfielder is expected to move south to Portman Road on an eighteen month deal after the Tractor Boys and the SPL club agreed on a transfer fee of £50,000. Stevenson’s contract with Hearts was due to expire at the end of the current season and he wanted it to be terminated but the club held on for a fee, after rejecting a bid from Crawley Town a few days earlier.

Stevenson expressed delight at the transfer, saying that it was a long cherished wish of his to play in England. He last played for Hibs in December 2011.
