Tottenham Hotspur are showing strong interest in signing Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo as new manager Thomas Frank begins reshaping the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Mbeumo, 25, is coming off the back of an impressive campaign in which he scored 20 Premier League goals, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s most consistent and dynamic forwards. The Cameroon international has a long-standing relationship with Frank, having developed under his guidance at Brentford since joining from French side Troyes in 2019.
Frank’s recent appointment as Spurs manager has added intrigue to Tottenham’s interest in Mbeumo, with many seeing a potential reunion as a natural move for both parties. However, despite Spurs’ interest, no formal bid has been submitted yet.
Brentford, aware of Mbeumo’s rising profile, are in a strong position. His current contract runs until the summer of 2026 if the club exercises its one-year extension option, and notably, it contains no release clause. This gives the west London side full control over any potential sale.
Interest in Mbeumo is not limited to Tottenham. Several Champions League clubs from across Europe are reportedly monitoring the situation, attracted by his pace, versatility, and finishing ability. Earlier in the window, Manchester United tabled a bid worth £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons, but Brentford rejected the offer as it fell short of their valuation.
Since arriving in England, Mbeumo has made 242 appearances and scored 70 goals for Brentford, becoming a crucial part of their rise and stability in the Premier League.
As Tottenham look to bolster their squad and compete for major honours under Frank, securing Mbeumo could be a significant first step – but they’ll need to move quickly amid growing interest from rival clubs.
