Ribery signs for Fiorentina

Former Bayern Munich and French international winger has signed for Italian club Fiorentina on a free transfer. The player was released by Bayern Munich in the summer after spending 12 years at the club.

The player who is currently 36 years old was looking for a last challenge and believes that this is a great opportunity for him to show that he can still play at the highest level. He said that he was assessing the different options that were available to him and believes that this is a unique opportunity for him to play in the Serie A.

Frank Ribery made 425 appearances for the Bundesliga club winning 9 league titles and 1 Champions League. He said that he is delighted to form part of the team and that he wants to help the club win as many games as possible. He stated that he has had a fulfilling career in Germany and that he will love to do the same in Italy and help his club.


The Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella said that Frank Ribery is a world-class player that will bring a wealth of experience to the club and that this will help lift the mood around the club. He believes that the player will not only be an asset on the pitch but also with the younger players that will be looking to him as a model.

Vincenzo Montella said that the club is looking to build a team that will allow them to make it into Europe and they feel that the signing of a player such as Frank Ribery is a step in the right direction. He said that the French winger has played in many big games and that he will bring his composure as well as his winning mentality to the club.
