Newcastle United are on the verge of adding another French player to their roster in the North-East. The Magpies are said to be on the verge of signing medio Romain Amalfitano. Amalfitano currently plies his trade for French club Stade de Reims, who were recently promoted from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1.
Amalfitano’s contract at Reims will expire this summer and he is expected to put pen to paper a three year deal at Tyneside. Newcastle already have several French born players in their squad, with the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye playing a key role in their fifth placed league finish last season.
