Man Utd agree fee with Dortmund for Kagawa

Manchester United have confirmed that they have agreed a fee with German Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Shinji Kagawa. The Japanese playmaker’s move to Old Trafford is now subject to a medical and a work permit being issued, with the player also having already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.

The amount being paid has not been revealed, but sources reveal it to be an initial fee of around £12m, with the potential to rise to £18m.

Kagawa was bought by BVB from Japan for £250,000 in 2006 and was the Bundesliga’s player of the 2010-11 season. Despite being absent for the first half of the 11/12 season, he had a stellar second half, helping Dortmund to a league and cup double.
