Brazilian international full-back Maicon is on the verge of joining Roma, after Manchester City agreed a fee with the side from the Italian capital. The experienced star is in Italy having a medical, after City boss Manuel Pellegrini claimed that he was not in his plans for the new season.
City are now being linked with a double £40million swoop for strikers Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo. The pair are believed to be top of Pellegrini’s summer shopping list. It emerged yesterday that Jovetic was close to joining the Citizens. According to reports this morning, Negredo could join him at Eastlands next season.
