Kitson could make Boro move permanent

Stoke City striker Dave Kitson has admitted that he could make his loan spell at Middlesbrough permanent when the transfer window opens in January. The former Reading striker has struggled since his £6million move from Reading.

He was a prolific scorer for the Berkshire club but hasn’t been able to gain regular football or get his name on the scoresheet frequently enough. The move proved a relief for the striker with a chance of regular football in the North East.

He originally admitted that he had no plans to stay at Boro beyond his initial loan spell, as he wanted to make his mark in the Premier League but he has now admitted he could be open to a permanent move to Gordon Strachan’s team.

“I go back to Stoke on 28th December and when I do I’ll speak to the manager Tony Pulis and see what he feels,” Kitson said in the Journal.

“It’s difficult to predict what might happen. I know I am going back when the loan is up but if the clubs want to do something else they can do something else and then I’ll see what the situation is.”
