Hoops swoop for Green

England goalkeeper Robert Green has agreed to join Queens Park Rangers on a free transfer. The Hoops, who narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of the season despite a shock 3-2 defeat to Manchester City, have secured Green’s services on a two year contract. Green is currently contracted to West Ham United and will officially join his new team mates at Loftus Road on July 1.

Green started his career with Norwich City before moving to West Ham in 2006 and has made over 200 appearances for both clubs. He was part of England’s World Cup 2010 squad and is currently on duty with the Three Lions in Ukraine and Poland as deputy to Manchester City stopper Joe Hart.
