Forest sign seven players on deadline day

Nottingham Forest had a busy transfer deadline day as they added seven new players to their ranks. The biggest of them was Ibrahima Sangare, with the PSV midfielder, linked with the likes of Bayern and Liverpool earlier this summer, moving to the City ground for a reported 35 million euro fee on a five-year-deal.

Sangare is also Forest’s record purchase, beating the previous record held by Morgan Gibbs-White.
Forest also did business with two Serie A sides- they landed Divock Origi on loan from AC Milan (with an option to make the deal permanent) and picked up Nicolas Dominguez from Bologna, with Remo Freuler heading the other way as part of the deal.

The other loan signing apart from Origi was that of full back Nuno Tavares, who has joined Forest from Arsenal. Forest also strengthened their defence with the £11m acquisition of Andrew Omobamidele from Norwich and Greek goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos for £7.7m.

Steve Cooper’s side also brought in Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea on a three-year deal for a reported £5m fee.

The big-name exit from the City ground on deadline was that of Brennan Johnson, who joined Spurs for £45m+.

Forest have won only one of their three games so far, but two of them were on the road to Arsenal and Manchester United.
