Everton eye move for Stephane Sessegnon

David Moyes is set to make a €17 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s midfielder Stephane Sessegnon. Moyes had Sessegnon watch by Everton scouts in PSG’s first game of the season against Montepillier. Although Sessegnon has signed a contract extension with PSG till the year 2013, a move to the Barclays Premier League would be too much to resist for the Benin international.

Sessegnon signed for PSG from Le Mans last season for a relatively meagre sum of €6 million. He impressed all in his first season scoring six goals and providing five assists in his 43 appearances for PSG. He signed an improved deal with PSG inspite of having grabbed the attention of major European clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Everton have rejected bids for Louis Saha and James Vaughn with David Moyes unwilling to let go of any of his squad players. Turkish club Besiktas had made a £8million offer for Saha which was rejected downright. Stoke City were also willing to offer £2million for Vaughn (fee rising to £5million on appearance) but Moyes decided against the transfer.

Moyes said: ‘Louis is someone we had a big bid for. But he didn’t want to go and we didn’t want to sell. It’s great news Louis wants to stay.’
