Emile Smith Rowe on loan in Huddersfield and Giroud to Inter

One of Arsenal’s most prolific young players, Emile Smith Rowe, will spend the rest of the season in West Yorkshire, Huddersfield. Although Smith Rowe, who’s 19 years old, made some good performances in Europa League and Carabao Cup, it seems that he just didn’t find his place in Arteta’s plans.

Huddersfield lacks creativity and vision, and by bringing Rowe, the club wants to speed up the play and incite other players to improve their game. The team from West Yorkshire struggles in EFL Championship, and something had to be done to prevent relegation.

Rowe should get a lot of first-team-play, although we still have to see this – we all know that EFL Championship sometimes gets rather violent.

Former Arsenal player Olivier Giroud could join Inter Milan

But the deal has yet to be sealed – Chelsea and Inter Milan weren’t able to find a mutually beneficial agreement. Needless to say, price is the issue. While Chelsea officials demand a minimum of €8 million, Inter is only ready to offer €5 million.

Olivier Giroud wholeheartedly agreed to continue the rest of his career at Inter Milan. First of all, he would reunite with his former coach, Antonio Conte. As a matter of fact, Antonio Conte initiated the arrival of the French striker while he was at the helms of Chelsea. It also seems as if the Italian manager held Giroud at higher regards than Lampard: the Frenchman only made five appearances in Premier League this season.

Frank Lampard, on the other hand, is very pragmatic when it comes to the Giroud-Inter situation. “He’s under contract…we’ll look at whether he can leave.”, said the coach of Chelsea. It’s not hard to understand where Lampard’s statement comes from – Chelsea struggled due to the FIFA ban. Lampard has yet to find replacements and solve other issues before letting Olivier Giroud go.

It would be interesting to see the French striker at Inter Milan, teaming up with Romelu Lukaku. Needless to say, Alexis Sanchez will figure as a major contender for Giroud. However, these are two rather different players, and perhaps Antonio Conte will be able to somehow combine the qualities of the Chilean striker and Olivier Giroud.

For instance, Conte may decide to play Sanchez wide, Lukaku in the middle, and Giroud as a sort of “false nine” who would sometimes drop back and leave space for a midfielder to cut in. This way, he’ll also be able to join Lukaku in the middle, especially when waiting for a cross.
