Dominguez set for Valencia move

La Liga side Valencia are on the verge of signing Rubin Kazan striker Alejandro Dominguez. The Argentinian is set to turn down Serie A sides Roma and Juventus in favour of playing alongside Spanish duo David Villa and David Silva.

There has been lots of speculation over Dominguez’s future and it looks like his future lies away from the Russian champions. His contract expires at the end of December and has rejected a one-year contract extension at Rubin. He is expected to sign a three-and-a-half year contract at the Mestalla.

Dominguez told superdeporte.es: “My move to Valencia is almost complete. I have pushed to complete it now because I want to play football in Spain and dream of having Villa and Silva as team-mates.

“It is true that Rubin offered to extend my contract for another season and that is a gesture that I valued greatly, they have always been great to me.”

Dominguez’s agent, Gustavo Ghezzi, told calciomercato.it: “Dominguez is very close to Valencia, who offered him a three-and-a-half-year contract. I fear it is too late for Roma and the other Italian club. I think there is no chance of his arrival in Italy. All that is left is to sign with Valencia.”
