Chelsea may lose Carvalho and Shevchenko

Russian giants Zenit St.Petersburg are keen to sign Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko before the start of the new season. Shevchenko has spent the last two years of his contract on loan at AC Milan but has returned to Stamford Bridge to see out his last year under new coach Carlo Ancelotti. Zenit are set to make an offer to Chelsea, which would be made public in a few days.

The Russian outfit are willing to offer Andriy a two-year contract where he would earn about 3.5 million per season. Chelsea have refused to comment on this development.

Another player who has hinted of a move away from Stamford Bridge is Ricardo Carvalho. Carvalho has been linked with a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Italian giants Inter Milan but the move has been stalled as Inter are unwilling to match Chelsea’s asking price. In an interview with Sky Sports, Carvalho confirmed that he is thinking of moving out of Chelsea –

“What I said before was that I have had four great seasons here and last season wasn’t so good, so I wasn’t happy and I don’t think the club were happy because I didn’t play.”

“At that time I felt like maybe it was time to go. But now I have a contract and I have to be professional and get fit to help my team-mates.

“In the future you never know, but at this moment I am focused on getting fit.”
