Canaries inch closer to Howson capture

Norwich City have moved closer to the capture of Leeds United captain Jonny Howson after they agreed a fee with the Whites for his transfer. Leeds reluctantly accepted the bid for the 23 year old, whose contract at Elland Road expires at the end of the 11/12 season.

The Whites announced on their official website that Howson wanted to play Premier League football and they were forced to accept a bid from the Canaries instead of losing him for nothing come June.

Howson is the latest in a list of players to try and leave Elland Road even as the Whites try to return to the top flight, and looks set to follow in the footsteps of Neil Kilkenny, Bradley Johnson, Jermaine Beckford and Max Gradel.

Personal terms are yet to be agreed between Howson and Norwich though.
