Berbatov, Bendtner and Essien move on deadline day

Some big names were on the move on transfer deadline day. Fulham pulled off something of a coup by signing Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United for a fee in the region of £4million. The 31 year-old has signed a two-year contract at Craven Cottage.

Danish international striker Nicklas Bendtner has joined Serie A champions Juventus on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal. Bendtner spent last season on-loan at Sunderland.

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien made a shock move to Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have signed the Ghanaian international on a season-long loan. Chelsea have also allowed midfielder Yossi Benayoun to leave on-loan to West Ham.

Aston Villa have added to their strike force with the addition of 21 year-old striker Christian Benteke from Genk for £7million. The Villans also added Crewe’s star midfielder Ashley Westwood to their squad.
