Allen denies Wycombe link as McPartland leaves County

Cheltenham manager Martin Allen has denied rumours linking him with manager-less Wycombe Wanderers. Wanderers are without a boss after they parted company with boss Peter Taylor last Friday due to a bad start to their League One campaign. The former Brentford and Leicester boss has said he has no intention of leaving League Two Cheltenham.

“I moved to Cheltenham six weeks ago and I’m very happy here, I know I have a hard job with the lowest budget in the league but there are no distractions for me. I’m staying. We had a tough year last year and it’s a challenge to manage here. I’ve no interest in Wycombe.” said Allen

League Two Notts County have fired their boss Ian McPartland. Big spending County lost a two goal lead at home to Torquay on Sunday to only draw 2-2. The fans booed their side off the field at the end of the match. McPartland has been under intense pressure ever since the new board took control of the club.

There were also rumours that director of football Sven Goran-Eriksson could quit the club in the immediate future.  However he is now favourite to take the hot seat at Meadow Lane. The other front runner for the job is believed to be former England midfielder David Platt.
