Arsenal set to bid for Real Madrid striker

According to the Daily Mirror Premier League Arsenal are set to bid £19million for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain. The striker has recently revealed that he will leave the Bernabeu this summer and is looking for a fresh challenge next season.

Higuain has been a prolific goal scorer in La Liga, despite at times only being a bit-player player at Real Madrid. He has stated on numerous occasions his dissatisfaction at his treatment in Spain and is looking to play regular first team football next season.

Liverpool and French club PSG are also believed to be interested in securing the signature of the Argentinian international forward.

Another reported summer transfer target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is former-Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas. The 26-year-old is believed to be unhappy at not getting regular first team football at Barcelona and could move this summer.

However, Premier League rivals Manchester United are also interested in signing the Spanish international ace. It has been reported that new Manchester United boss David Moyes has made Fabregas one of his top summer transfer targets.

A fee in the region of £40million has been mooted, as the two Premier League clubs could go head-to-head for Fabregas’ signature this summer.
