Liverpool have completed the signing of winger Joe Cole on a free transfer from Chelsea. The 28 year old thus becomes the Reds’ second signing of the summer after Serbian international Milan Jovanovic.
Cole’s contract with Chelsea expired this summer and apart from Liverpool, he was also linked in the press with a move to Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. Cole has signed a four year contract with Liverpool and will reportedly earn somewhere near £90k a week.
Cole’s move is the second transfer between Liverpool and Chelsea this summer- Israeli skipper Yossi Benayoun completed his transfer from the Reds to Chelsea earlier this month for somewhere around £5.5m.
