FC Twente appoint Michel Preud’homme as new coach

Dutch champions FC Twente have appointed legendary Belgian goalkeeper Michel Preud’homme as their new manager.  The 51 year old replaces Steve McClaren, who guided the side to a famous Eredivisie triumph in the 2009/10 season before leaving for German outfit Wolfsburg.

Preud’homme, winner of the Lev Yashin award at the 1994 World Cup, started his managerial career with Standard Liege in 2006. He spent two years with them and gave them their first ever domestic title in 25 years before moving to Gent in 2008.

Preud’homme is likely to sign a three year deal with Twente. De Tukkers will be playing in the group stages of the Champions League for the first time in the 2010/11 season. Find out the latest Champions League Scores at FootyScores.co.uk
