Modric urges former-teammate to join him at Real

Former-Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric has urged former-teammate Gareth Bale to join him at Spanish giants Real Madrid. The Welshman is highly-rated and has recently been linked with big money moves to both Real Madrid and arch-rivals Barcelona.

Recently former-Spurs boss Harry Redknapp claimed that Bale could get in any team in the world and Modric agrees. The Croatian international told Sky Sports: “Harry is right – it would be amazing for Gareth to come and play for Real Madrid,”

“I think he can do it. He is certainly good enough to play at the highest level. I hope he will come to us. It was nice to see my old friend Gareth and play against him. He’s a top player. We had a good chat after the game.”

Modric was of course referring to Tuesday night’s World Cup qualifier between Croatia and Wales which ended in a 2-0 victory to Croatia. For now Bale looks set to stay at White Hart Lane, but for how long is anybody’s guess.
