FC Twente sign Miroslav Stoch on loan from Chelsea

2008-09 Eredivisie runners up FC Twente have snapped up Slovakian youngster Miroslav Stoch from Chelsea on a season long loan.

Stoch, 19, started his career with FC Nitra, and signed for Chelsea after catching the attention of Blues scouts in 2006. He made his league debut for Chelsea against London rivals Arsenal in November 2008 as a substitute for Portuguese playmaker Deco. Stoch has also been capped at international level by Slovakia.

Apart from Twente, Premier League clubs Reading and Wigan, along with Germany’s Borussia Monchengladbach were interested in securing the services of the young forward.

Stoch becomes Steve McLaren’s fourth attacking signing of the summer after club record signing Bryan Ruiz and the African duo of Ransford Osei ( on loan from Maccabi Haifa) and Bernard Parker.
