De Jong close to German switch, as Villa talk to Dutch ace

Newcastle-target Luke De Jong looks set for a move to Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach. The German side are preparing for a tilt at the Champions League next season and have agreed a fee with FC Twente believed to be in the region of £16million.

Newcastle had previous sent representatives to Holland to negotiate a deal, but it seems that the Dutch international is on his way to the Bundesliga for next season instead.

Another Dutch star that could be on the move this summer is Feyenoord defender Ron Vlaar. De Jong’s international teammate is believed to be in Birmingham holding talks with Aston Villa.

The 27 year-old still has a contract with Feyenoord for two years but is now believed to thinking over a move to England second city. Vlaar appeared twice for Holland in their disaster Euro 2012 campaign.
