Bolton agree fee with Burnley for duo

Bolton Wanderers have reached an agreement with Burnley FC for the transfer of Clarets duo Tyrone Mears and Christopher Eagles. Burnley announced on their website that they had “regretfully” accepted a bid for the duo, rumoured to be around £3m, as they were unable to get the pair to pen new deals. Both Mears and Eagles are in the last year of their contracts at Burnley.

If Mears and Eagles both manage to agree personal terms with Bolton, it will reunite them with Trotters boss Owen Coyle, who formerly managed them at Turf Moor.

Burnley also announced that the funds from the sale of both Mears and Eagles would be used to augment the squad for the forthcoming 2011/2012 Championship season.
