York Denies Brodie bid

Blue Square Premier League side York City have denied they received any bids for striker Richard Brodie. His manager Martin Foyle however expects bids in the January transfer window for the forward. His goal tally was taken to 17 in midweek after he scored a hat-trick against Chester City. He also scored a brace in his sides FA Cup 3-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra last weekend.

League One side Huddersfield Town had been linked with a bid for the in-form ace but according to Foyle so far they haven’t made their interest concrete. He has however admitted that it wouldn’t be a surprise if Town boss Lee Clark did try to snap his striker when the transfer window does open.

Foyle told the York Press: “I’ve not heard anything from Lee Clark, Huddersfield or anybody else, but I expect to and, to be honest, expected to about ten games ago because it’s not just about Brodes’ goals. We’ve seen a massive improvement in him as a player this season and he will be on a lot of people’s radar. There will be speculation but, until I actually get a phone call, we will carry on normally. I know what will probably happen – we will get a derisory offer from somewhere.
