U’s sign former Wycombe midfielder

Cambridge United have completed the signing of midfielder Kieran Murtagh on a free transfer from Wycombe Wanderers. Murtagh,22, has put pen to paper a two year deal with the U’s following his release from Wycombe.

Murtagh started his career with Fisher Athletic and moved to Yeovil in 2008. After two years with the Glovers, he left Huish Park to join Wycombe in 2010. Earlier this year, he had a short loan spell with Woking, but was recalled to Wycombe in order to provide cover in midfield.

Cambridge finished 7th in the 2010/2011 Conference National last season. Wapping born Murtagh has also been capped at senior level by Antigua and Barbuda and was also part of the Irish squad at U-17 level.
