Premiership Transfer News

The cash injection of the Abu Dhabi United Group has made Manchester City the richest club on the planet. And they are likely to be very aggressive in what could be a mellow winter transfer window. Roque Santa Cruz is likely to rejoin Mark Hughes as there is a 17 million pound release clause in his contract which City will most likely trigger. City have not yet given up on Lassana Diarra. Diarra was a long term City target, but an offer from Juande Ramos’ Real Madrid has seen the French holding midfielder close to agreeing a deal with the Spanish outfit. A host of other players have been linked with City – including David Villa, Wayne Bridge, Steven Warnock, Michael Owen and Gigi Buffon. On the other hand; Elano ,Nedum Onouha and Michael Ball might be force to find another club. City would really be the team to follow in this winter transfer window.

Sevilla frontman Luis Fabiano may be on his way to Chelsea. Chelsea are in need of a proven goalscorer and Fabiano’s move could also pave way for Drogba’s Inter Milan adventure. Everton are moving for CSKA striker Wagner Love to solve their injury crisis. Spurs will take ex-Liverpool defender Steve Finnan on loan with a move to make the deal permanent. Juventus are set to bid big money for Liverpool pair of Daniel Agger and Ryan Babel, which will be rejected by boss Rafa Benitez.

In news regarding some of the smaller Premiership clubs, bottom club West Brom are to bid 1 million for PSG frontman Peguy Luyindula. Gary O’Neill is set to return to Pompey for 5.5 million pounds. Also, Wigan are close to agreeing a deal for an unheralded Columbian striker Hugo Rodallega Martinez to replace unsettled striker Emile Heskey.
