Official: Wolves sign Steven Fletcher

Wolves have splashed out £7.5million – a club record – to complete the signing of Burnley striker Steven Fletcher. The Scottish international impressed with his forward play even though Burnley were relegated from the top tier. He managed to score eight times in 35 appearances – a record which will only improve with better players to support him. The fee paid for Fletcher surpasses the £6.5 million they had paid for Kevin Doyle a season ago.

The 23-year old Fletcher has signed a four year contract at Molineaux with an option to extend it by another year. While playing for Hibernian, Fletcher had caught the fancy of scouts at Real Madrid and was mooted as the next big thing to come out of Scotland. But he ended up switching to Burnley instead.

In some more good news for Wolves fans, captain Jody Craddock put pen to paper on a new one-year deal. The former Sunderland player was quoted as saying – ” It’s brilliant to get the contract sorted and signed. It’s another year for me at Wolves, which is fantastic.”
