Paris St Germain deny transfer approach for Rooney

Unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is facing an uncertain future as it’s rumoured that several top teams are vying to purchase him. Rooney handed in a transfer request after a poor season with the Premier League champions, at a time when many already doubted his future with the team. But retiring boss Alex Ferguson revealed recently that they have refused to accept the request in the hope that Rooney would change his mind.

Paris St Germain have said they would love to sign Rooney but according to president of the team, Nasser Al-Khelaifi they have definitely not yet made an approach for the Man U striker. Al-Khelaifi was quoted as saying that Rooney is a great player, one of the best strikers in the world and anybody would like to have him, but the fact is PSG didn’t approach him. PSG is one of the richest clubs in the world and it’s likely that Rooney’s transfer fees will be as high as the jackpots on offer at top casino site http://www.iPhonecasino.ca , so he will be out of reach for everyone but the mega wealthy. PSG signed David Beckham in January and the British footballer has also just announced his retirement, leaving another spot open in the team that will have to be filled by someone of a similar calibre.

According to reports Arsenal are keen on signing Rooney and have confirmed they discussed a possible move as early as in March, when they were first alerted to Rooney’s problems at Old Trafford. There could be some financial issues stopping Arsenal though, as currently Lukas Podolski is their top earner, making just over £100,000 a week, which pales in comparison to Rooney’s £250,000. Manager Arsene Wenger has an increased budget of £70million for the summer, but whether they would be prepared to take the striker on at anything close to his current pay grade remains to be seen.

It’s been less than 12 months since Arsenal sold Robin van Persie to this season’s Premier League champions. It may become a classic case of trading places if Arsenal is successful in their bid for Rooney and new Man U manager David Moyes does indeed decide to let him transfer.
