Fulham have publicly stated that new manager Rene Meulensteen has given attacking midfielder Bryan Ruiz permission to speak with a ‘number of clubs’. It is believed Real Betis, in particular, have offered to take the Costa Rican international on loan for the rest of the season, offering Fulham a fee of £750,000 to do so.
During his time in West London, Ruiz has shown flashes of genius that seemed to justify Fulham bringing him in from Dutch side FC Twente in the summer of 2011, but consensus seems to be that such ability has been too rarely enjoyed by the Craven Cottage faithful.
Furthermore, in previous seasons Fulham have enjoyed much more measurable success than they are currently enjoying, allowing flair players such as Ruiz – as well as others such as DimitarBerbatov – more freedom to express themselves. This season, with the club in the depths of a Premier League relegation dogfight in which no team has truly been cut adrift, it is the grittier side of Fulham’s character that needs to be prioritised. The work rate of players such as Steve Sidwell and impressive youngster PajtimKasami is currently a much more valuable asset than the undoubtedly technical ability that Ruiz displays.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Fulham are believed to be interested in signing Aston Villa striker Darren Bent. Fulham boss Martin Jol has recently revealed that he feels like he still needs to bring in one or two players this summer, ahead of the new season.
Bent is also believed to be a target for Newcastle, but a move back to his native London may prove a more tempting one. Bent was frozen out at Villa last season, as he made just seven appearances for the Villans. Villa are believed to value Bent at £5million and Fulham look set to meet that valuation.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Fulham are lining up a permanent deal to sign young Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong in the summer. The youngster is highly-rated and is currently on-loan at Craven Cottage. The Ghanaian midfielder only made his debut in the Cottagers 2-2 weekend draw at Sunderland, but boss Martin Jol has admitted that he would be willing to sign the young midfielder on long-term contract.
Frimpong has been unfortunate with injuries in his short career. In the last three years he has sustained two cruciate ligaments injuries which have set his career back. He will be hoping to get some games under his belt before the season finishes.
The 21 year-old has also had stints out on-loan at Charlton and Wolves, but both spells were interrupted by those aforementioned injuries. Arsenal wouldn’t want to lose the talented youngster as he is a bit of a crowd favourite already, even though he has only made fleeting appearances for the first team. The decision may lay with the player himself.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Emanuelson can play as a left-back and a left-sided midfielder. Emanuelson will be hoping to get his career back on-track, after a stop-start spell in Italy’s top flight.

Fulham are on the verge of completing their second major loan signing of the winter transfer market after it emerged that they were in advanced talks with unsettled Milan star Urby Emanuelson. The versatile Emanuelson, who can play in both defence and midfield, will be in London till the end of the season, but the Cottagers do not have an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan spell.
Emanuelson used to play for Ajax before making his switch to Milan. He has played under Martin Jol before at the Amsterdam Arena and has also been capped 16 times by the Dutch national team.

Premier League Fulham have signed Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong on-loan for the rest of the season. The 21 year-old is highly-rated and showed some of his promise when he first broke into the first team at the Emirates.
However, his chances in the first team have been limited of late and the midfielder was loaned out last season and earlier this season. Frimpong has endured injuries problems already in his short career so far, but will be hoping this move will re-ignite his career.
The Cottagers are also trying to bring in Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone. Fulham are believed to be interested in taking the former-Forest midfielder on-loan in a similar deal to Frimpong.
Like Frimpong, Huddlestone hasn’t always been first choice for his club this season, although the England international midfielder has made 19 appearances this season. Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas doesn’t want to get rid of the midfielder, but he is more likely to get regular first team football at Craven Cottage.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Premier League Fulham are close to completing the signing of Sunderland’s versatile star Kieran Richardson. The North East club have accepted a bid of £2million for the full-back/winger and he is expected in London to discuss personal terms and have a medical later this evening.
Richardson has won England caps and is hoping to finalise a move to Fulham to be closer to his family. Fulham have been busy today in the transfer market, after they agreed a £4million deal for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The Bulgarian striker is believed to have passed his medical and should sign before the transfer window shuts on Friday night. Fulham could still make more moves in the transfer market. The Cottagers sold Belgian midfielder Moussa Dembele to Tottenham for £15million earlier this week and are still on the lookout for fresh recruits.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Fulham have agreed a deal that will see Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega move to Craven Cottage on a free transfer. Rodallega was a free agent after deciding not to pen a new deal with Wigan Athletic and Martin Jol moved quickly to bolster his attacking resources with the Colombian striker. Jol was looking for a new forward after the departures of both Andy Johnson and Pavel Pogrebnyak this summer.
Rodallega, who has put pen to paper a three year deal with the Cottagers, will complete his move subject to receiving a work permit.
The 26 year old moved to Wigan from Necaxa three years ago and is a regular with the Colombian national team.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Fulham skipper Danny Murphy has completed a shock move to relegated Premier League side Blackburn Rovers. The former Liverpool midfielder, whose contract at Craven Cottage was due to expire at the end of the 11/12 season, opted to drop down a division by signing a two year contract with Rovers. Fulham’s London neighbours Queens Park Rangers made a last minute attempt to hijack the transfer, but Murphy rejected their offer and announced that he would be joining Ewood Park.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean was delighted with Murphy’s acquisition, terming it a “pivotal moment” for the Lancashire club in their bid for promotion. Apart from Liverpool and Fulham, Murphy has also represented Crewe Alexandra, Tottenham Hotspur and Charlton Athletic in the past.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Fulham boss Martin Jol has warned all potential suitors of Clint Dempsey that the striker is not for sale. American international Dempsey has been in dazzling form for Fulham this season and was again the hero for the Cottagers as they stunned Alan Pardew’s Newcastle 5-2 at Craven Cottage yesterday. Dempsey scored three of Fulham’s five goals in the game, with Bobby Zamora and Danny Murphy scoring the others.
Dempsey has now taken his goal tally to fifteen and in a league where consistent sharpshooters are proving hard to find, it has sent his value soaring. However Jol insisted that Dempsey was not for sale and said that the American had a contract which he would honour by staying at Craven Cottage.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email
