Bantams bring in Liverpool’s Hansen
July 28, 2011
Bradford City have completed the signing of Liverpool keeper Martin Hansen on an initial month long loan deal. The young Danish stopper moves to the Bantams to provide cover for regular keeper Jon McLaughlin and may extend his loan spell if all goes well. The arrival of Hansen provides relief for Bradford boss Peter Jackson, who has been looking to shore up that position all summer.
This is the first spell outside Anfield for Hansen, who joined the Reds in 2006. The 21 year old also played a part in Liverpool’s recent pre-season friendly against Hull City, an exhibition match which Kenny Dalglish’s side lost.
Bradford will kick off their league campaign against Aldershot on August 9.

Rory Patterson leaves Plymouth for Linfield
July 17, 2011
Plymouth Argyle striker Rory Patterson has left the Pilgrims to join Irish Premiership champions Linfield on a year long loan. The move means that Patterson, who has a year left on his contract at Plymouth, is unlikely to represent them again.
Patterson was involved in a contract dispute with Argyle after the club asked him to sign a deed of deferral for a eight straight month. He refused and was threatened with action by Argyle’s administrators.
Patterson joined Plymouth from Coleraine in 2010 and scored four times in 35 appearances for the Home Park outfit.
Patterson was originally supposed to join Linfield’s rivals Glentoran last summer but chose to move to Plymouth instead without playing a single game for the Glens.
Plymouth will compete in League Two this season following their relegation from League One.

Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema Possibly Heading to Man Utd
April 13, 2010
Football players in this day and age are straight commodities. Your hometown hero this season could catch the twenty-million-pound bus next and leave you bitter and jaded. It’s always fun to watch your favorite footy star while he’s suited up for your squad.
Players are transferred today like it’s the London Stock Exchange, and Real Madrid’s French forward Karim Benzema certainly doesn’t appear to be an exception to the rule.
No stranger to the transfer game, Manchester United is currently in negotiations that would hopefully send Karim, along with Valencia’s David Silva, to the team. So far, the news is only on the rumor mill, but United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is attempting to shore-up funding for the acquirement by sweet-talking American owner Malcolm Irving Glazer out of 60 million.
Glazer, who also owns the American NFL franchise the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, certainly has the funding available to sign Real Madrid’s ultra-talented forward to a lucrative deal – and gain a solid utility player in the process on the cheap. But whether or not Ferguson will receive funding for his selected stock remains to be seen.
Some speculate that, instead of Glazer parting with such a sweet chunk of change, he will instead pinch his pennies and force Ferguson to make lemonade from lemons by acquiring lesser players.
Benzema and Silva both would be welcomed additions to Manchester, but only time will tell if the deal can be made.

Schmeichel set for summer County exit
April 1, 2010
Notts County will be forced to sell highly-rated young goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel this summer. They have to sell the 23 year-old as they can no longer afford to pay his high wages. The Dane was signed when money was no object at the world’s oldest club.
However the mega-rich former owners got tired of running the club and the club need to cut their cloth accordingly. They are currently second in League Two and hoping for promotion. Schmeichel has helped their cause immensely. Notts County still owe Manchester City £500,000 after former-owners Munto Finance failed to pay for the bill for his signing.
New Notts County owner Ray Trew has put a £2million price tag on the former-Manchester City ace. Trew revealed: “I’d like to get £2million for Kasper. I think he’s worth that,”. Two Premier League clubs are believed to be chasing Schmeichel.
Trew wouldn’t revealed the identity of the two top flight clubs but there will be no shortage of takers for the young keeper. He is by far the biggest earner at the Magpies and his wages are closer to Premier League wages then League Two.

Swindon sign Hammer, as Hereford sign Jervis
March 20, 2010
League One surprise package Swindon Town have signed promising young West Ham striker Frank Nouble on-loan for a month. The 18 year-old joined the Hammer’s from London rivals Chelsea last summer.
The exciting youngster had a run in the West Ham first team earlier in the season but has only just returned to the Hammers from a loan spell from West Brom. West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola has lots of options up front after strengthening his attack during the January transfer window.
The spell at the League One promotion contenders will give the youngster some very valuable first team experience. Nouble will go straight into Swindon’s squad for their game against league leaders Norwich on Saturday.
League Two side Hereford United have signed young Birmingham City striker Jake Jervis on loan until the 17th April, depending on Football League permission. Jervis is the second signing United have made this week after signing Louis Young on loan from Watford.
Jervis is in-line for his Hereford debut on Saturday as they host Bradford City. United have also allowed experienced striker Lee Morris to join Forest Green on loan for a month.
