Former-England international David Beckham is set to be unveiled as a Paris St Germain player at 4PM today. The midfielder has been out of contract since leaving MLS outfit LA Galaxy last month. Beckham has been linked with moves to Australia and also a move to Arsenal.
However, it seems that the 38 year-old is now set to move to the French capital on a short-term contract. Beckham was linked with a move to PSG in the summer and also last January. The veteran star will now look to help PSG clinch the Ligue one title this season.
Beckham has won numerous honours throughout a glittering career that has saw him play in the Premier League, La Liga and at World Cup’s with England. Scottish champions Celtic have agreed a transfer fee with A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners for promising Australian youngster Tom Rogic. The Hoops will reportedly pay a fee around £395,000 to the Mariners for the 20 year old, who has been training with them in their winter camp in Spain over the last few days.
Rogic will now discuss personal terms with Celtic, but a number of Premier League clubs are also keeping tabs on the midfielder, with Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and Reading all said to be interested in securing his services. QPR have already made an offer to take him on trial which was rejected by the Mariners.

Former-England striker Emile Heskey has joined Newcastle, Newcastle Jets that is in Australia. The 34 year-old has been without a club since being released by Aston Villa earlier this summer. Heskey was expected to drop down the divisions in English football but has now made the move to Australia.
Heskey had been linked with moves to Championship clubs Hull and Leicester before his move down under. He told the clubs official website: “This is an exciting new period in my life and I am looking forward to making a special contribution to the A-League and most importantly, to the Jets,”

Scottish Rangers have strengthened their squad with the addition of Greek defender Anestis Argyriou. The 24 year-old has signed a two-year deal at Ibrox after enjoying a trial spell with the club. Argyriou had been at Greek giants AEK Athens, but made just 11 appearances in two years at the club.
He is the seventh new arrival at Ibrox this summer, after a summer of upheaval that has saw most of the first team squad leave the Scottish giants. One player who looks set to leave the club is midfielder Maurice Edu.
The 26 year-old is set to move to Premier League Stoke, after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee and the midfielder agreed personal terms with the Potters. The USA international is now set to have a medical and seek international clearance for the move.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

French giants Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of defender Thiago Silva from AC Milan. Both clubs have confirmed the transfer and while the transfer fee wasn’t officially unveiled, it is rumoured that Silva and his Milan team mate, Swedish striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is expected to follow him to Paris, will together cost the French side £50m.
Brazilian centre half Silva, regarded as one of the best defenders in world football currently, has signed a five year contract with PSG, who were pipped to the French title by Montpellier last season. Qatari club Al Sadd have announced the signing of Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez. The veteran striker chose not to extend his contract at German Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 at the end of the current 2011/12 season and Al Sadd swooped in with a offer he couldn’t refuse.
Raul had indicated that he wanted to ply his football outside Europe in order to get more time to spend with his family and football in Qatar is unlikely to be very taxing on his 34 year old body.

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has agreed to join MLS outfit Portland Timbers. Boyd was a free agent after being released by Turkish outfit Eskisehirspor in December and despite interest from a number of SPL and Championship clubs, opted for a switch to the lucrative MLS.
Timbers are coached by former Scotland striker John Spencer and Boyd is expected to earn something in the region of £1.4m a year. He has agreed a three year deal with the West Coast outfit and will join them in the States very soon.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has revealed that he is interested in securing the services of Polish striker Pawel Brozek. Brozek is currently contracted to Turkish giants Trabzonspor but McCoist is keen to wrap up a deal before the end of the current transfer window, preferably on loan.
McCoist has also revealed that he sees Brozek as a partner for Croatian hitman Nikica Jelavic, rather than a replacement for him.
Brozek is targetting some regular football before Poland host the European championships and McCoist is hoping that the need for first team action could help smoothen the Pole’s move to Ibrox Park.

Scottish giants Rangers have handed VVV Venlo striker Michael Uchebo a trial with a view to a permanent transfer. The lanky Nigerian wants a move away from the Netherlands, where he currently plays with VVV, and is training with Rangers with a view to completing a switch north to Scotland.
Uchebo also had a trial with Stoke City recently but the move did not go through. Rangers are expected to pay Venlo a fee of around £1-1.5m for the striker.
VVV has also revealed that there is interest from Russia for Uchebo’s services. A move eastwards may be the only option left for the Nigerian U-20 international if he doesn’t receive a work permit for his transfer to the SPL.Subscribe to Football Transfers by Email

Polish defender Jaroslaw Fojut is set to join Glasgow Celtic, the Hoops have announced. Fojut has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Hoops and will move to Celtic at the beginning of the 2012/13 season once his contract with Slask Wroclaw expires at the end of the current season. Slask competed against Celtic’s domestic rivals Dundee United in the Europa League earlier this season.
Fojut is not new to the United Kingdom, having played for Bolton Wanderers and Luton Town before returning to his native Poland by signing for Slask Wroclaw in 2009.
