Juventus confirm Borriello loan signing
January 4, 2012
Serie A giants Juventus have officially confirmed the loan signing of striker Marco Borriello from AS Roma. Borriello has linked up with the Turin giants till the end of the season and Juve also have the option to make the deal permanent by paying Roma eight million euros.
Originally a Milan product, Borriello is a well travelled footballer in Italy, having plied his trade for Triestina, Treviso, Empoli, Reggina, Sampdoria and Genoa apart from his current club.
Borriello has made only seven appearances for Roma this season, with Luis Enrique preferring Pablo Osvaldo to the injury prone forward at the Olimpico.
Borriello has been capped by Italy at senior level and a good impression at Juve may help him secure a spot in the Azzurri squad for Euro 2012.

Atletico agree £35m transfer fee with Porto for Falcao
August 19, 2011
Atletico Madrid have announced that they have struck a deal with FC Porto for the transfer of Colombian striker Radamel Falcao. Los Colchoneros will pay Porto around £35m ( 40 million euros) for Falcao’s services. The fee could however rise to £40m ( 45m euros) over the years in add-ons. The Colombian is one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, averaging nearly a goal a game with Porto, and is expected to fill the hole left by Sergio Aguero’s £38m move to Manchester City.
Falcao was very strongly linked with a switch to Chelsea following former Porto boss Andre Villas-Boas’ appointment at Stamford Bridge, but the transfer did not materialise, and Atletico, flush with funds following Aguero’s sale, pounced for the prolific striker.

Gers complete double American swoop
August 18, 2011
Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers have completed the double signing of Alejandro Bedoya and Carlos Bocanegra from Orebro and St.Etienne respectively. The duo take the number of American players at Ibrox Park to three, joining midfielder Maurice Edu in Glasgow.
Bedoya had originally signed a pre contract agreement to join Rangers in January after the completion of the Swedish Allsvenskan league, but Rangers managed to broker a deal with Orebro for the 24 year old’s immediate transfer by paying a reported $500,000 fee.
Versatile defender Bocanegra, who can play at both left back and centre half, has joined on a three year contract for an undisclosed fee ( reported to be around $660,000). He captained the United States at the 2010 World Cup and has already collected more than 90 caps for the national team.

Hoops to sign Kenyan midfielder Wanyama
June 30, 2011
Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic have announced the signing of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, subject to the player receiving his work permit and passing a medical. The Hoops had reached an agreement with Belgian outfit Germinal Beerschot for Wanyama’s transfer earlier this year and the player, the brother of Inter’s McDonald Mariga, has also agreed personal terms with the Glasgow outfit.
The transfer fee for Wanyama was not announced, but sources have it to be somewhere in the £900,000 range. Bitter rivals Rangers were also interested in securing Wanyama’s services and so were English Premier League side Aston Villa, but the Hoops stole a march over both the clubs and are now in a prime position to sign Wanyama, who made his international debut for the Kenyan national team at the tender age of 15.
Wanyama’s signing has to be approved by a panel as Kenya are not in the top 70 ranked FIFA nations in the world.
