Roque Santa Cruz weighs up his options
October 31, 2010
Roque Santa Cruz is looking for an escape route out of Manchester City in January. The Paraguayan forward who was signed for a staggering £17 million by former boss Mark Hughes is well down in the pecking order with Adebayor, Tevez, Jo and Mario Balotelli ahead of the tall striker. Only last month, City’s boss Roberto Mancini stated that Santa was free to find other employers.
Roque is attracting a lot of interest from Spain with Getafe, Mallorca and Espanyol keen to open negotiations with the City management. Getafe look very keen on the player with chairman Angel Torresis having assured him first team football if he decided to make the switch.
If Roque decides to stay put in England, he could re-unite with former City boss Mark Hughes at Fulham. Hughes tried to sign Santa Cruz on loan before the transfer window slammed shut. But City are adamant that any move within the Premier League would not be a loan deal but an outright transfer.
Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has also expressed his desire to sign the forward on loan. But the Championship outfit would only be able to pay only £20,000 pounds a week – a fraction of his wages at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Neymar linked with a move to Chelsea, yet again!
October 6, 2010
The speculation surrounding Neymar’s move to Chelsea refuses to die down. The 18-year old was quoted as saying that he needed to move away from Santos in order to improve as a player. He also said that a it would be an ‘honour’ to play in the blue of Chelsea. The London club had a £25 million move rejected in the summer for the player who is dubbed by many as the new ‘Pele’. But with the tag having been graciously bestowed on so many others, it would be just right to wait and see if the kid fulfills his potential.
Neymar scored on his full Brazil debut in August and a host of Premier League teams are keeping a track on his progress at Santos. Manchester City and West Ham United have expressed interest in the past. Neymar’s contract with Santos, which runs until 2015, could be a hurdle in his move to England. With the player contracted to Santos for another five years , it would take an astronomical offer to tempt Santos to sell their new superstar.
But Neymar sounds very keen on a move to Chelsea.
