Manchester United to swoop for Vagner Love?
March 28, 2009
According to Russian media reports, European champions Manchester United might table a bid for prolific Brazilians striker Vagner Love in the summer transfer window. United are not the first Premiership team to show interest in the 24 year old CSKA Moscow player. Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea were also keeping an eye on his progress in the past.
Love is expected to cost around £20m. He boasts of an incredible scoring his record at CSKA, and is the top scorer at the 2008-09 UEFA Cup, with 11 goals. Ivica Olic is second with seven goals. Unfortunately, Love will not be taking any further part in this season’s UEFA Cup after CSKA were knocked out by Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk in the round of 16.
What does this news mean for Angolan forward Manucho? He is currently on loan at Hull City. Berbatov and Rooney are United’s two main strikers, and Argentine forward Carlos Tevez’s deal might not be extended by SAF.
We’ll keep you updated on this rumour.
